Plummer Pool

Plummer Pool is a City of Sylvania owned facitilty that is operated by the Sylvania Recreation Corporation.
During the Sylvania City School year, hours of operation are: 3:00 PM - 7:00 PM.
Regular hours are followed for weekends during the school year schedule (see below).
Sylvania City Schools summer break hours are:
11:00 AM - 7:00 PM (Monday - Friday)
11:00 AM - 8:00 (Saturday)
1:00 PM - 8:00 PM (Sunday)
Hours of operation are the Saturday prior to Memorial Day through Labor Day.

Seasonal Staff
Plummer Pool is an outdoor family swimming pool that is located on the grounds of Burnham Park. Staff is hired on a seasonal basis to serve as lifeguards at the facility. Interested individuals must be Red Cross certified in basic lifeguard training, CPR, and first aid. Interested individuals must possess strong personal skills and be willing to work weekends, evenings and holidays. - Sylvania Recreation offers beginner and intermediate level swim lessons at Plummer Pool.
- All lessons are taught by Red Cross Certified lifeguards/instructors, and follow Red Cross guidelines.
- Children must be 5 years old to participate.
- Lessons are given in two week sessions for 1/2 hour per class. Monday through Thursdays are regular class days with Fridays serving as inclement weather make-up days.
- All children will be assessed on the first day of class to ensure proper placement. We stress to parents to use their best judgment while registering a child. *children may be moved after testing*.
- Beginners - should have little or no experience swimming.
- Intermediates - should be able to tread water, float, and perform some swimming strokes
- Late registrations cannot be accepted and must received via our online registration the Friday prior to the start of each session.
- Registration is limited to the first 25 children per session, so register early.
- Fee: $25.00 per session.
