The Sylvania United Soccer Club was formed in 1997 to provide soccer players from the Sylvania area with a soccer program that will give them an opportunity to play competitive soccer on a community team. The program is operated under the direction of Sylvania Recreation and stresses skill development and game tactics in a positive environment of fun, teamwork, fair play and love for the game of soccer.

TRYOUT DATES FOR FALL 2009 / SPRING 2010 SEASON

All tryouts will be held in the Tam-O Shanter Sports and Exhibition Center Field House.

• Teams will play 10 - 12 games per season in various divisions based on experience in the Northwest Ohio Youth Soccer League. Home games are played at Sylvania Pacesetter Park. League road games are played within a 45 minute drive from Sylvania. Teams will be permitted to travel to only one out of town tournament per season - Fall and Spring. Travel to tournaments is done as a club to promote the “family cohesiveness” of the club.

• Teams will be formed in age groups U-10 through U-14 for boys and girls. Priority will be given to residents of the Sylvania Recreation District in selection of team members. Once players are selected for a team, they must commit to play both seasons, Fall and Spring.

• Mandatory player costs will be a maximum of $385.00 per year. All fees are due prior to Fall season.

o Registration Fee: $260.00 – Includes Fall & Spring season

o Uniform: $125.00 - includes two jerseys, shorts, and two pairs of socks. Other items such as bags and jackets are optional at an additional cost.

• Other optional expenses may include fees for Foot Skills Clinics and Indoor Soccer Sessions. Decisions on whether to participate in these activities are made by the coach and parents.

• Coaches will be volunteer parents and others, no paid coaches. Coaches are trained through the United States Soccer Federation protocol.

• Sylvania Recreation will be responsible for collection of all fees and payment of expenses.
